We planned to have our family Christmas on the New Year's weekend. Craig, Michelle, Collin, Larkin and dogs with puppies were coming south to visit.
But---as always changes have to be made. Craig's family called Christmas Eve morning to say they would be there for the New Year.
At 5:30 pm Christmas Eve Wayne and I left for Spearsville. Donna was working the 26, wouldn't get the kids until Sunday night, Jason and Morgan would be in Sunday. So what was holding us here.
We got to Michelle's about 10:30. First the kids had to open their gifts from us. We gave Craig and Michelle money for a dishwasher this year. They had already installed and enjoyed the miracle of clean dishes. Collin was real excited with a new dishwasher, he loves to cook.
Each kids had their own Christmas trees. They will plant them in the yard this spring. Santa wrapped Collin's gift in camouflage and Larkin's in Hannah Montana.
Collin is ready to go deer hunting and stay warm doing it. So far this year he has not got one. You can't count the one Santa gave him, that one 'poops' chocolate.
Larkin is a farmer by heart. She has a box full of farm animals and is glad to get more. Pawpaw had to get on the floor to play farm.
You can see the beginning of the wood floor. They liked 2 feet finishing the living room, plus the hall. The supplier ran out of planks and it is not made any more.
Larkin got a handful of whirlygigs, she puts them in her flower beds because they are pretty.
You notice the big, unwrapped box. That was a special surprise for the kids. If you notice the kids right hands you will see they are each holding a key. Each one got a 4-wheeler. They were so excited. Larkin took Pawpaw for a ride, she made a turn to fast and threw Pawpaw off the back. No they could not get Mawmaw near them things.
What is it about boys and mud? Brand new, and Collin covers his 4-wheeler and himself with mud. He enjoyed himself.
Booboo's puppies were so cute. No, I do not want another one. She let us love on them, but she kept her eye on us. She has bitten Collin and Craig for getting too close. Craig gave her an 'attitude adjustment' with his boot.
