First let me thank all of yall for your prayers. We had some scares on the road, but Jesus had us in His hands.
Rylee is cured of the RSV, doctor says she has the immunities in her body and will not catch again. She and Mom were going crazy being stuck at home. Marlee is at home and doing fine. Deb, my sister, had a scope done on her knee. Everything looks good. There is a question on the ‘’knee joints’’, some are being recalled. Hoping the scope procedure took care of any future problems.
Thursday night we packed the Mustang, all our bags fit. Wayne said it couldn't be done. HAHA Folded most of our clothes and put in trash bags to take up less room. Wayne filled the trunk and slammed it shut. The lock is strong, did not spring open while we were going down the road.

We left Friday AM about 6:45. Wayne asked if we were crazy? Y/N I text and ask the family, Wayne’s Uncle Gene wrote back NO. He later called us to say NO we were not crazy, he moved from LA to TX for a job. At the age of 70 he applied for a job in Iraq/Iran. You are never too old to try new things.
We were so tired we kept punching each other on the shoulder to stay awake. We had a hard week. Wayne got 3 calls Monday from the headhunters, then talked to Gordon, Supervisor in Denver at 6:30 pm. He had a job and would start on Monday, January 31, could not be postponed. I was going to stay in LA to get things taken care of and then fly up later. That night I decided, what wasn’t finished could wait 4 months.
Between doctor appts, bringing and picking up the g-babies, Boudreaux’s beauty parlor appt, the Mustang being in the shop for 1 ½ days and packing, we were busy.

Started seeing snow along the fence rows in North OK. That is when Larkin, our 9 year old granddaughter, got mad at us. We did not bring her, she wanted to play in the snow. She was going to walk, but decided it was too far. Her second plan---she’s buying bubble wrap next time she goes to the store, wrapping herself up, getting in a box with snacks and her dog, BooBoo, and mailing herself to us in CO.
In OK we saw black cows in the pasture, in KS the cows were white. Texting Chell about the next color we would find---she said “polka dot”. Well she was not “polka dot”, I would call her a "patch work"-black and white. When we got on the west side of KS we found pastures with STRANGE things in them.

One pasture had a tumbleweed rolling through it. Only saw them on television, in old westerns.

This was a welcome site. 25 hours to get here. We were ready to get out and relax. But that was not to be, we were told in Baton Rouge the antifreeze in the Mustang was good to 10 degrees. Forecast was for BAD weather. Wayne and Ed had it rechecked, it was good to -22. The 1st week we were here was the worse in a decade. One night got down to -17, record was -18. Came close, but no new record. You know you are in trouble when you look out the window and your red car is now covered in white snow. (Mustang is the second car on right)

Wayne checks each morning to see if it is "white again". Most mornings have been white.
We are told that this is not normal. Have snow, but skies are clear and beautiful blue. You do know, this bad weather is our fault---we get here Sunday, this weather starts Monday.

This is our neighbor, HOOTERS. Ed told Wayne about this restaurant before we left Baton Rouge.
It is a man thing. Tonight Wayne is taking Ed to supper, Ed leaves Wednesday for South Carolina, by way of Baton Rouge. Will be at work Tuesday morning. Wayne thought we were crazy!!!
Again thank you for your prayers and letters of encouragement. Long drive, but Wayne is enjoying the work. Not looking forward to driving in this "pretty" snow and ice.
I keep asking myself---Why are we here???---On, yeah, A JOB!!!!!
